Into the Universe

Mysteries of the Cosmos

Since humanity first gazed at the stars, our understanding of the cosmos has grown immensely. Yet each breakthrough unfurls a torrent of new questions.

Into the Universe explores the astronomical enigmas that challenge our understanding of the cosmos and our place within them. This season will examine the cycles that sculpt our sky and the mechanisms that continue to elude us.

From the inception of spiral galaxies to the dramatic deaths of massive stars, the size of the universe to the invisible dark realm, scientists will guide viewers on a voyage through some of the most perplexing puzzles in space. What happens inside the inescapable grasp of a black hole? What sends deadly cosmic ray particles hurtling towards Earth? In a universe brimming with stars, planets and galaxies, how is it that life appears to solely exist on Earth? And how did life emerge here in the first place?

Through observational data, models and theories, astronomers sift the known from the unknown to piece together this grand cosmic narrative.
